This month’s Nonprofit Nook spotlights Joint4ces, a Sonoma County nonprofit transforming veterans’ lives by connecting them with opportunities in agriculture. Founded by Sunny Welch, with Dante Graham as vice president, Joint4ces helps veterans transition from military service to civilian life through hands-on farming.

“We support veteran entrepreneurs and are developing a transition track for people leaving active duty,” Welch says. “Right now, our pilot program is running at the Veteran Village in Windsor, California.”

The pilot project includes installing raised garden beds at the Veteran Village and hosting a biweekly farming program where veterans grow crops, share experiences, and reconnect with nature. Dante Graham, also known as Farmer Don, is both a strong advocate and active participant in the program.
